Meet Yvonne, a resident at our skilled nursing facility, who has not only warmed the hearts of everyone around her but has also found joy in mingling with fellow residents. Initially arriving at Salem Woods with a lack of confidence, Yvonne faced challenges in relying on others due to limited independence. She spent the initial months in her room, hesitant to engage with her peers. However, as she ventured outside, Yvonne started to form connections, sharing conversations about the diverse wildlife in the area. Gradually, she gained confidence, setting and achieving new goals every day.



With each passing day, Yvonne's journey became a story of resilience and determination. She diligently worked towards newfound goals, steadily building her self-assurance. Today, she proudly stands for over 90 seconds with mid-assist contact, using the parallel bars. Yvonne's increasing independence is a testament to her commitment, and her ultimate goal to reunite with her sister marks a significant milestone in her ongoing progress.

The adjustment to a new environment can pose it's challenges. However, our dedicated team is committed to fostering a supportive and welcoming atmosphere. We prioritize efforts to help residents break out of their shells, encouraging social engagement and participation in various activities. By fostering a sense of community and ensuring individualized care, we strive to transform their experience, elevating the quality of life for each resident as they gradually adapt to their new home.
