Honoring 41 Years of Dedication: Mark Banchy’s Remarkable Service

At Salem Woods, we are incredibly proud to celebrate Mark Banchy as he approaches his 41st work anniversary—a milestone that speaks volumes about his dedication and commitment to our residents and team.



Mark lives just 2.2 miles from work, a distance he usually drives. But this morning, he chose to walk. While that might not seem extraordinary on a pleasant day, today was anything but. A winter storm that began yesterday brought snow, freezing temperatures, and difficult conditions to our area. Yet, Mark bundled up and braved the elements, walking the entire way to ensure he arrived at his normal start time.

When asked why he didn’t call for a ride, Mark’s response was simple yet deeply inspiring: “I knew the residents needed to have clean laundry, and I was determined to make sure they had what they needed.”

This moment perfectly captures who Mark is—a man whose unwavering dedication and selflessness have made him a cornerstone of our community for over four decades. He doesn’t just come to work; he shows up with purpose, compassion, and a heart full of service.

We often say that people like Mark are one in a million, and we truly believe that God broke the mold after making him.
