January Employee of the Month

Salem Woods would like to congratulate Derek Stineman on being awarded January Employee of the Month!

Derek is one of our awesome Activity Aides at Salem Woods. Derek has shown many great qualities, including being a hardworking and dedicated employee. He is always willing to take extra time to listen to residents and help them with any needs they have. Our residents love to be around him because they love their conversations!

Derek's peers shared that he's hard-working, reliable, dependable and always willing to help. They appreciate that Derek takes the time and will go out of his way to make someone smile. He is very pleasant to be around and always carries a positive attitude with him.



We sat down with Derek and asked why he is so passionate about his job. "It's from the heart," replied Derek. "I love making people smile or feel good about themselves. You can say that I bring compassion, love, care, kindness, modesty, selflessness and a variety of other attributes like camaraderie to The Woods."

When we asked what he enjoys most about working at Salem Woods, he shared, "I just enjoy being at The Woods to interact with the beautiful people that make the moments both special and real. Anything to leave an impression that is to be remembered and talked about. For there is no wasting a day, as life is just too short to be anything else but a sun shining over a reservoir, making a beautiful rainbow."

We are so lucky to have someone like Derek on our team here at Salem Woods. Thank you for making our facility a wonderful place to live and work!
