Welcoming Our New Administrator!
July 21, 2022
Get to know our new Administrator, Brian Coffey! Brian comes to Salem Woods with a wealth of experience and knowledge. Although he is new to our facility, he is a familiar face to many within the Foundations Health Solutions (FHS) family. He has been a Nursing Home Administrator for over 20 years, starting his career with Carington Health Systems in October 2000.
The facilities of Carigton Health Systems became a part of the Foundations' portfolio in 2011, and Brian continued his career with FHS, where he made a home for himself for over eight years.
"I continued working for FHS until June 2019. I spent nearly three years working for different organizations. Those were pretty tough years, but I think they helped make me better. During those years, I often wished I could just come back home to FHS. When I saw there was an opening with FHS at Salem Woods earlier this year, I decided I needed to try to come home. Thankfully, I was given the opportunity to return to FHS in April 2022. I am very happy to be serving with the team at The Residence at Salem Woods.
I have been married to my wife, Kim, for 29 years. We met at church in December 1989. Kim and I have one son named Landon. He is a dedicated member of the Talawanda Varsity football team, so our Friday nights this fall will be spent at high school football games. We also enjoy traveling and camping as a family.

Brian Coffey - Administrator for the Residence at Salem Woods
I come from a family that has had multiple members dedicate their lives to the long-term care industry and, specifically, to our organization. My wife has worked for the company for many years. My sister, Melissa Benge, has also worked for the company for about 24 years. Melissa has served in various positions, including Medical Records, Charge Nurse, Treatment Nurse and MDS Coordinator. Melissa currently serves as a District Director of Business Development.
Although there are other family members I could mention who have given some or all of their lives to the industry, my mother, Glenna Coffey, is probably the best example I can give. My mom worked for the company for nearly 50 years. She began working in a family-owned nursing home when she was a young girl. She was a housekeeper, dietary aide and nursing assistant. Then she went to nursing school, became an LPN, then an RN, where she served as a DON, and finaly earned her Administrator’s license. She often said she did every job there was to do in a nursing home except put tar on the roof. I can honestly say that I actually have put tar on the roof of one of my buildings.
Hopefully, by the end of my career, I will have done half as much good for others as she did during her career."
Please help us in welcoming Brian Coffey to the Salem Woods family!
